1、心理上家长要接受孩子患病的事实，并且要树立足够的信心来帮助孩子治疗。另外就是让孩子了解自己所患疾病，明白自己的处境，知道如何保护自己，发作时如何求得别人的帮助，让孩子明白自己的疾病病程很长，要坚持按时服药，才能治好自己的病，帮助孩子树立信心，告诉孩子，父母和医生会帮助他渡过难关。

2、生活上要细心照料患儿的饮食起居，尽量避免一切诱发癫痫发作的因素，特别是减少各种感染引起的发热。当患儿体温超过38℃时，常易引起热性惊厥，诱使癫痫病发作。而肠道感染、吐泄会使患儿体液大量丢失，水、电解质平衡紊乱，诱发癫痫。当患儿一旦出现高热时，一定要积极就医治疗，采取降温措施，小儿癫痫发作药物抢救常识。

3、不要过分溺爱患儿，否则会妨碍患儿人格、心理的健康发展。癫痫患儿如果智力无低下，应与其他儿童一样上学，但学习不要太累，注意保证充足的休息和睡眠，可以参加适当的体育活动(不能过于劳累)，尽量不要游泳、爬山、荡秋千等。

小儿癫痫越早治疗越好，发现症状后一定要尽快去检查，及时治疗，这样给孩子造成的影响会更小。
