2、癫痫发作时，迅速让病人仰卧，不要垫枕头，把缠有纱布的压舌板，垫在上下牙齿间，以防病人自己咬伤舌头。随即松开衣领，将病人头偏向一侧，使口腔分泌物自行流出，防止口水误入气道，引起吸入性肺炎。同时，还要把病人下颌托起，防止因窝脖使舌头堵塞气管。

3、生活上要细心照料，患儿的饮食起居，尽量避免一切诱发，癫痫发作的因素，特别是减少各种感染引起的发热。当患儿体温超过38℃时，常易引起热性惊厥，诱使癫痫发作。而肠道感染、吐泄会使患儿体液大量丢失，水、电解质平衡紊乱，诱发癫痫。当患儿一旦出现高热时，一定要积极就医治疗，采取降温措施。

4、应该纠正代谢异常，如低血糖、低血钠、肝性脑病，低血糖及高渗性状态，这些病症均能引起癫痫状态，需考虑所选用的药物毒性作用。

5、应采用其他措施维持生命功能，预防和控制并发症，如物理降温、给氧、气管插管及适度换气，处理脑水肿，预防性能应用抗生素等，以及积极寻找病因，和针对病因治疗。
