二、大部分患者症状发作强度可自行减弱，慢慢平息，当患者出现昏迷时，不要用力掐按患者人中，避免损伤局部组织。

三、患者出现强直时，不要进行嘴对嘴人工呼吸，患者呼吸肌和腹部肌肉强直，呼吸发生暂停，面唇青紫，容易形成异物使患者窒息，这也是癫痫发作时注意事项之一。

四、如果患者症状发作时间在十五分钟以上还不能自行停止，家人要立刻将患者送到医院进行救治。

五、不要强行将东西塞入患者口中，特别是质地较硬的开口器等。如果发作时患者牙关紧咬，强行塞入物体会造成没有必要的伤害，这是较重要的癫痫发作时注意事项。

六、患者病症发作时家人切忌不可把手指放入患者口内，以免咬伤手指。条件允许可在患者张口时，在上下牙齿间塞入毛巾，来防止患者不小心咬伤舌头。
