一、一般药物治疗：1.根据癫痫发作类型选择安全、有效、价廉和易购的药物。2.药物剂量从常用量低限开始，逐渐增至发作控制理想而又无严重毒副作用为宜。3.给药次数应根据药物特性及发作特点而定。4.一般不随意更换、间断、停止西药，癫痫发作完全控制2-3年后,且脑电图正常,方可逐渐减量停药。5.应定期药物浓度监测,适时调整药物剂量。

二、在癫痫发作的治疗中，抗癫痫药物有特殊重要的意义。抗癫痫药物可通过两种方式来消除或减轻癫痫发作，一是影响中枢神经元，以防止或减少他们的病理性过度放电;其二是提高正常脑组织的兴奋阈，减弱病灶兴奋的扩散，防止癫痫复发。

三、对药物治疗无效的难治性癫痫可行立体定向术破坏脑内与癫痫发作的有关区域，胼胝体前部切开术或慢性小脑刺激术。
