表现为言语和活动忽然中断，两眼凝视，偶尔上翻，有的时候面色苍白，双目注视无神手中持物跌落头前倾口角眼睑颤动时有眼球颤动，既不跌倒也不抽搐，没有先兆。手中拿着的东西落地，有的时候打碎饭碗，被父母误认为精力不集中，常遭责备。小儿癫痫小发作症状表现停止后，继续原来的活动。

儿童癫痫失神伴肌阵挛：有面部或肢体眼眼睑眼球向上运动。小儿癫痫失神伴植物神经症状：有失神症，还有如出汗尿失禁等。小儿癫痫失神伴发肌张力增加：前俯性失神，后仰性失神或旋转性失神。小儿癫痫失神伴发自动症：除失神症外，表现吸吮咀嚼或其他无目的动作。小儿癫痫失神伴肌张力减退：儿童癫痫(羊角风)病人失神伴全身肌张力丧失而跌倒。
