1、单纯部分性癫痫发作：某一局部或一侧肢体的强直，阵挛性发作，或感觉异常发作，历时短暂，意识清楚。癫痫的症状若发作范围沿运动区扩及其他肢体或全身时可伴意识丧失，发作后患肢可有暂时性瘫痪。

2、精神运动性发作：精神感觉性，精神运动性及混合性发作。癫痫病的症状多有不同程度的意识障碍及明显的思维，知觉，情感和精神运动障碍。可有神游症，夜游症等自动症表现。有时在幻觉，妄想的支配下可发生伤人，自伤等暴力行为。

3、癫痫大发作：突然意识丧失，继而先强直后阵挛性痉挛。癫痫病的早期症状常伴尖叫，面色青紫，尿失禁，舌咬伤，口吐白沫或血沫，瞳孔散大。持续数十秒或数分钟后痉挛发作自然停止，进入昏睡状态。醒后有短时间的头昏，烦躁，疲乏，对发作过程不能回忆。若发作持续不断，一直处于昏迷状态者称大发作持续状态，常危及生命。

4、癫痫小发作：突发性精神活动中断，意识丧失，可伴肌阵挛或自动症。一次发作数秒至十余秒。脑电图出现3次/秒棘慢或尖慢波综合。
