如果患者在服用抗癫痫药物的期间，仍有癫痫发作，并且总感到疲劳，应及时告诉医生，医生将会增加药物剂量或换药。如果要减量也要慢慢进行，切忌停药太快。

口服药时宜取站位，躺着服药会使药物在胃和食管内溶解，对食管有害。服药时要用温开水送下药片，不要干吞，否则容易使药物粘附在食管壁，损伤粘膜，导致出血;不宜用酒类送药，因酒中的乙醇与多种药物相互反应，升高毒性反应;不用饮料送药，不用茶水或牛奶服药，否则不利于药物吸收。

患者用药还要向医生问清楚具体用药情况，如应在饭前、饭后还是在吃饭中用药及每天服药次数和剂量是多少。不要捏患儿鼻子喂药，否则易使药物呛入气管或支气管，导致咳嗽或吸入性肺炎，甚至出现窒息。
