所以，医生建议患者有必要做24小时的动态脑电图检查，24小时的动态脑电图检测的好处有三个，一是能够通过长时间动态的检测，使得发现异常放电的概率大大增高，可显着提高癫痫诊断率。二是，有些癫痫的发作是在睡眠中或是清晨，也有的是看电视、听音乐诱发的，24小时的动态脑电检测可以发现这些时候脑电的异常，而传统的短程的检测则很难发现。三是，24小时动态脑电检测能够更好地判定癫痫起源的部位，为癫痫的诊断、分型乃至手术部位的确定提供了可靠的依据。
