老年人对抗癫痫药物的敏感性增加，肾小球的滤过能力下降，药物在体内的存留时间较长，因此选择药物时尽量选择不通过肾脏滤过的药物，并酌情减少使用剂量。

4、易患骨质疏松

老年癫痫患者长期服用丙戊酸钠等具有酶诱导作用的药物，容易发生骨质疏松症，应注意预防。
