一：全身性强直-阵挛发作：患者在正常情况下突然大叫倒地，双眼泛白，牙关紧咬，口吐白沫，四肢抽搐，嘴唇渐渐变紫，时间比较长，随后抽动瞬间停止，患者慢慢进入睡眠状态。

二：失神发作：患者会突然停止正在进行的动作，定在那里。一般在十几秒之后，发作会结束。有时发作中会合并眨眼、咀嚼等动作。发作后可继续原来活动，完全不记得发作过程，由于这种症状不明显且时间段，很容易被忽视。

三：复杂部分性癫痫发作：这种症状发作之前患者会有感觉，随后出现不能自己的动作，并且丧失意识，时候患者完全不能回忆。癫痫的发作类型是不自主动作可以是眨眼、咀嚼、两手乱摸或茫然的乱走，其发作时间多为一分钟左右。

四：单纯部分性癫痫发作：出现这种发作症状时，患者意识并没有丧失，可以别人交流。其症状可以是一手、一脚或半边的脸抽动，也可以没有任何抽动的动作，而只有奇怪的感觉或是眼前的情景突然间变得很陌生。而有些患者则会出现幻觉，突然看到奇怪的影像和奇怪的声音。
