充足的休息与睡眠对癫痫患者来说非常重要，癫痫病应避免劳累，保证充足的睡眠。睡眠不足可使大脑兴奋性增高，正常人若睡眠不足脑电图也可有类似癫痫病人的活动。成人癫痫病人应保证睡眠时间，至少保证每天睡眠7--9小时。这样才能有效的避免癫痫病发作。
