1、通常情况下，医生对患者用药是从小剂量开始，逐渐增加至有效控制发作、而无明显毒副作用的剂量，坚持长期按时定量服用。

2、目前癫痫病能治愈吗?患者在服药期间不能单独外出，以防止交通事故发生，注意患者安全，禁止单独游泳及攀高，防止坠床或摔伤。发作时禁止强行服药或进水、进食，避免用强力阻止患者抽动，以免发生骨折和其他意外。

3、正确处理不良反应，有很多抗癫痫药物都有不同程度的不良反血，因而，除定期随访、常规体检、用药前查肝肾功能、血尿常规外，用药后还需每月复查血常规，每季度复查肝肾功能，至少持续半年。

4、及时就诊，成人癫痫的常见病因有颅内感染、颅脑外伤、酗酒、脑寄生虫病四大类，如果成人癫痫的常见病因一旦确诊的时候，患者应及时到医院进行诊治。

5、癫痫患者需要有规律的生活习惯，都要尽量为患者多考虑一些，避免由于照顾不周到，特别是对待少儿患者和幼儿患者，生活上更要细心照料，要注意饮食定量，不能暴食暴饮，少食油腻生冷和刺激性强的食品，要注意起居有节，休息、活动要充分，但都不能过量。
