突发后天癫痫要吃多久药才能治愈?也就是说，抗癫痫药物一定要长期、不间断、定时、定量服用，一般至少要服用2-3年，有时需3-4年甚至更长时间，直至发作已完全控制方可逐渐减药。停药时间一般要求在半年内逐渐少直至完成。如用苯妥英钠0。1克，每日3次，发作已控制，服用2-3年，可改服0。1克，每日2次;继续若干月，如无发作方可停药。即便服用中药或伴发其他疾病，一般也应征得医生同意才以改变治疗方案。有时白天忘记服药，可在晚间补足，使每日剂量保持恒定，以维持稳定有效的血药浓度。

一般开始用量宜小，逐渐调整至既能控制发作又不产生中毒反应为宜。在休止期不要间断服药，不规律服药是不能控制发作的主要因素。有学者认为完全不服药比不规律服药或许还要安全。

用某种药物治疗，经过一段时间观察确认无效就需要更换药物。更换药物的方法有两种：一种是1次剂量的新药，更换1次原来服用的药物，例如原来服用苯妥英钠0。1克，每日3次，拟更换苯巴比妥时，每1周每天减1次苯巴比妥英钠，加服苯巴比妥1次，第2周更换1次，第3周即改为每日3次苯巴比.

另外一种方法是维持原来用的药物，逐渐地增加新药，以每周增加一次为宜，待两药合并取得效果时，可合并保持血液内药物的有效浓度，部分患者可根据发作情况决定服药时间和次数。

若仅在夜晚发作，则可在每天晚间睡觉前给药1次;如仅在白天发作1次，则可早晨服药1次。女性患者在月经期发作或发作频繁，应在此期间多给些药物。个别患者发作频繁，亦可每次服药。总之，在没有摸清发作规律之前，以每日3次服药为宜。适合的次数和剂量因人而异，也是逐渐摸索得来的。
