二、防止颅脑外伤

三、预防寄生虫

寄生虫是引起老年癫痫常见的原因，患者一定要做好这方面的预防，及时的复查在生活中时刻要保持卫生的清洁，避免寄生虫引起的癫痫。

四、癫痫病患者发做护理

1、扶住患者，避免摔倒。当患者突发全身抽搐前将要倒地时，患者家属若在附近，应立即扶住患者，使其尽量慢慢倒下，以免摔伤。

2、保护患者口舌，避免咬伤。为了避免咬伤舌头，应在患者上下颌未闭紧前，将手绢、纱布、毛巾等柔软的物体卷成卷，垫在患者的口中。如果发现癫痫患者发作时已经牙关紧闭，不要采用暴力强行撬开患者的口腔，否则会造成患者牙齿的松动脱落。

3、保持患者呼吸畅通。已经倒地的患者，应使其呈平卧位，家属应帮助解开患者的衣领，松开腰带，使其呼吸通畅。应把患者头侧向一边，避免口中唾液和呕吐物引起窒息。家属应始终守护在患者身旁，观察患者的呼吸情况，随时擦去患者的呕吐物。
