(2)最好不要再找癫痫病患者，或者是先天性疾病患者作配偶。配偶双方都是癫痫患者，或者一方为先天性疾病患者，另一方有癫痫家族史的，他们的子女受遗传因素影响较大，癫痫的发病率明显增高，即使他们的后代不是癫痫病患者，但一遇有癫痫发病因素就难以避免了。有统计资料表明，癫痫患者子女的癫痫发病率大约是4%，比正常人的癫痫发病率高近10倍。

(3)癫痫病患者的近亲，也受遗传影响较大，可能有癫痫遗传基因，即使近亲结婚的双方都是健康人，其子女患先天性疾病的可能性也是很大的。有资料表明，癫痫病患者近亲婚配出生的子女癫痫病发病率较高，即比健康人近亲婚配出生的子女癫痫发病率还要高5倍。

有一点必须说明，我们不能片面地认为，癫痫病人不能婚配或者婚后会加重病情。事实上，和谐的婚后生活，会使病人身体机能、精神状态等各方面得到调节，有许多患者婚后病情大大减轻了，关键在于要掌握有关癫痫病的知识，最大限度地避免弊端。
