科学、合理、正确的照护癫痫患者，是癫痫康复路上的加速器。首先，在饮食上不要出现极度饥饿或者撑的饱饱的状况，因为血糖会根据患者的饥饿度而出现跌落和猛升，无论哪种都有可能会诱发癫痫发作，通常八分饱为宜。由于一些抗癫痫药会给患者的消化系统造成不同程度的代谢障碍，致使维生素B族、微量元素、叶酸等营养物质缺乏。

对此癫痫患者应多补充此类食物，如：花生、鸡鸭鱼肉、蛋类等。有研究表明，大脑兴奋性增高与睡眠情况密切相关。正常人若没有睡足，也可出现脑电图疑似痫样发电的情况。因此，专家建议成人睡够79小时才有助大脑神经休息、调整，儿童睡眠时间至少要是成人的2倍。

针对目前很多癫痫患者或家属存在癫痫患者不做运动最好，这样不会发生意外危险的片面观点，专家表示癫痫患者应该适当参加体育锻炼，有助于稳定神经细胞活力。适宜参加散步、网球、太极等有氧运动，忌游泳、登山、骑自行车等危险度较高的运动，以免发生癫痫突然发作酿成意外事故。
