据专家介绍，癫痫一般分为两类：原发性癫痫和继发性癫痫。其中原发性癫痫大多和遗传有关，在临床上找不到病因，但有脑功能的异常，CT检查也查不出来任何脑结构的问题，而继发性癫痫多由其他疾病导致的癫痫发作，如儿童癫痫可以因为早期或者是分娩时的脑部损伤。此外，感染和外伤，如脑膜炎、脑炎，还有车祸等颅脑损伤都可能引起儿童癫痫。

相对于成年人的癫痫，儿童病发的表现并不明显，因此造成了家长的忽视。尤其是婴幼儿，有很多不典型的病征，比如有些婴幼儿期的儿童只是短暂抽动几下、有些只是翻一下白眼，有些少年期儿童只是出现短暂走神、眼皮不停地眨一会，如果家长们没有察觉或者重视，很难去判断和及时就诊。据了解，目前诊断癫痫最基本、最重要的手段是脑电图，患病儿童在不发病的时候约80%可查出癫痫波。相关专家指出，癫痫频繁发作有可能严重影响患儿的脑发育，当有癫痫的症状，最好及时的治疗癫痫。

67%患儿服药依从性差

对于目前我国儿童癫痫的治疗，患儿依从性差问题比较突出。据一项针对0~17岁的癫痫患者的研究报告显示，擅自停药、减药、换药及拒服的比例高达67%。造成依从性差的原因，包括可供选择的药物较少;部分抗癫痫药物存在较多副作用;频繁的服药为患儿生活带来不便;同时由于儿童害怕服药的天性，造成给药困难。这些因素严重影响着儿童癫痫的治疗效果。
