(一)现代中医如何给癫痫分类?

现代中医根据中医典籍的分类方法，对癫痫病有了更明确的分类。归纳起来有下面几种。

(1)分为阴痫、阳痫或者实证、虚证两类。这种分法实际上是继承了传统中医的阴阳两分法。

(2)把癫痫分成风痫、惊痫、痰痫、食痫、热痫、瘀痫、虚痫、虫痫等类，是根据病因来分类的。上述几类，散见于医籍中，古代医家已有论述，只是未加系统概括。现代医家经过加工整理，形成了一个比较完整、科学的体系，这其中有医家独到的见解，但总体上说来还是对古代医学思想的继承。

(3)把癫痫分为肝风痰浊、肝火痰热、肝肾阴虚、脾胃虚弱四类。这种分法，从肝、脾、肾三脏立论，体现了当前中医对癫痫病病因的基本看法，切中了要害，抓住了主要矛盾，不失为一种较好的分法。

　　大量研究证明，癫痫和遗传因素有关。遗传可以影响细胞膜离子通道的功能，降低惊厥阈值，引起神经元放电。双胎癫痫符合率的研究及家系脑电图的研究都提示癫痫性素质为常染色体显性遗传，且在5～15岁之间外显率最高。已证实或推测与遗传因素有密切关系的癫痫综合征包括儿童及少年失神性癫痫、少年肌阵挛性癫痫、儿童良性癫痫伴中央颞区棘波、常染色体显性遗传夜间额叶癫痫等特发性全身或局部性癫痫，其中有些综合征的基因已定位。癫痫病中药处方
