癫痫的类型之二：原发性癫痫也叫特发性癫痫;无器质性病变并具有遗传倾向的癫痫。

它是一组特定的癫痫综合症，对于儿童，往往和年龄有密切关系，有些与遗传因素有关系，并且预后良好。如：胎儿在母腹中时，孕母突然受到惊吓，引起气机升降紊乱，导致肝肾精血亏损，引起胎儿发育异常，出生后就出现此病症状。

癫痫的类型之三：继发性癫痫或症状性癫痫;也叫有明确病因和脑器质性病变的癫痫。

引起此类癫痫的疾患很多，主要分以下两类：一是脑内疾患，各种各样脑病，如，脑血管病、颅脑损伤、脑炎、脑膜炎、脑积水、脑脓肿、炎性肉芽肿、颅内肿瘤、脑寄生虫、颅脑外伤、脱髓鞘疾病、脑发育异常、脑萎缩颅脑手术后遗症、脑局部疤痕、脑变性疾病等均可引起癫痫;二是脑外疾患：如：低血糖、低血钙、窒息、休克、子痫、尿毒症、糖尿病、心源性惊厥以及金属，药物中毒等。许多中枢神经系统或全身疾病都会引起癫痫。继发性癫痫常见的原因是产伤，颅内感染，脑循环异常等，如脑炎后遗症，小儿高热惊厥等，都可造成癫痫。
