4、治疗不专一：不少家长对自己的癫痫患儿治疗没有坚定信念，到处找偏方、看虚伪广告，不能长期固定于某家医院或某个医生，这样下去，由于没有长远打算，所以造成癫痫长期不能把持。

5、用量不够：癫痫患儿个体差别很大，例如：近期有一种新的抗癫痫药物―――妥泰，在同年纪同样发作类型的小儿中，有的每日用片即可把持发作，有的小儿每日用片才干把持发作，也有的每日用片仍不能把持发作。因此癫痫患者在用药进程中，必定要由家长和医生联合，慢慢探索每一位癫痫患儿的具体用量，才干更好地把持癫痫发作。

6、多药联用：由于急于把持发作，不少家长或医生，一开端就多种抗癫痫药结合利用，这样很可能引起几种药物的相互反映，从而下降药物疗效，同时还会造成慢性药物中毒。

7、抗癫痫药物调换频繁：由于家长治病心切，用一种药还未到达最佳疗效，就请求换药;而有些医生也不懂得各种抗癫痫药的药代动力学，用几天或半月无效就换另一种，这样换来换去，当然不可能把持发作。

8、有部分癫痫患者因为有先天脑发育异常、后天脑软化或者有遗传因素，也是造成长期不能把持的原因。
