癫痫主要是脑部问题，而且癫痫频繁发作，还会对老年人的智力造成障碍，常常让老年人的记忆力衰退、注意力不集中。认知能力受到损害，一些老年人甚至因为癫痫而导致痴呆、精神异常等症状。而且一些老年人因为患上癫痫病而出现精神异常以及严重的抑郁症、孤独症或者是性格出现改变，导致性格暴躁易怒、多疑，话多等，给本就不轻松的家庭造成严重的不和谐因素。
