铅中毒是怎么一回事：

铅通过呼吸道及肠道进入人体后，有90%储存于骨骼，10%随血流影响神经系统、血液系统、心血管系统、肾脏、免疫系统及内分泌系统等。由于铅一般蓄积在离地面1米左右的空气中，而这一高度正好是青少年的呼吸范围，这导致青少年铅中毒的可能性大大增加，而铅中毒对青少年的危害更加严重。

铅中毒的危害有哪些：

由于青少年神经系统正处于成长发育期，且血脑屏障发育尚不健全，体内铅含量的增高会引起其神经系统损害。胎儿期和出生早期的铅暴露对智能发育的危害可能会持续到学龄期，而早年过高的血铅还会影响青少年的阅读能力、定向能力、听力、反应速度等，血铅水平增高还会引起智力下降。铅中毒虽可治疗但往往还会发生后遗症，如癫痫及智力发育不全等。

铅中毒的主要表现为严重的中枢神经系统病变如癫痫样发作、运动过度、攻击性行为、语言功能发育迟滞以至丧失等，但无急性颅内压增高的征象。铅中毒性脑病后遗症中的癫痫样发作和行为改变到青春期可以逐渐减轻，但智力缺陷仍然持续存在;重症病例可有失明和偏瘫。
