1、过度通气综合征

常见于年长儿，特别是青春期前后。患者常诉阵发性呼吸困难、胸闷或胸痛，有时伴有轻微的头痛。偶有晕厥或假性失神发作，可能被误认为是癫痫发作。观察病人发作时呼吸浅快而不规律，常有叹气样深呼吸。病人常有焦虑或精神障碍，精神治疗或抗焦虑治疗有效。代谢性酸中毒的病人也常出现阵发性过度通气，如有机酸血症、Rett's综合征等。

2、呼吸暂停

新生儿及小婴儿的呼吸暂停分为两种：惊厥性呼吸暂停和非惊厥性呼吸暂停。惊厥性呼吸暂停在生后数小时内即可发生，常伴有其他形式的轻微惊厥症状，发作期EEG常可记录到新生儿型的惊厥性放电，发作期心电图常有心率加快，少有心搏徐缓;非惊厥性呼吸暂停常见于未成熟儿，也可见于足月儿，主要病因为脑干呼吸中枢调节功能不成熟。呼吸暂停常发生在睡眠中，伴有心搏徐缓，长时间的呼吸暂停可伴有青紫，肌张力减低，反应消失及阵挛或肌阵挛样运动，但不是真正的癫痫发作。如呼吸暂停出现在完全清醒时，可能伴有胃一食道反流。多在婴儿平卧位喂食时发生。

3、屏气发作

屏气发作多见于6个月至6岁的儿童，高峰年龄在6～18个月。发作常有诱因，如生气、恐惧、兴奋或轻微损伤。发作时首先大哭，然后呼吸突然停止，持续数秒至数十秒，伴有意识丧失，头向后仰，躯干及肢体强直，姿势不能维持，常有震颤或阵挛样抽动，1～2分钟后意识迅速恢复，活动正常，无发作后状态。

发作时EEG背景可有阵发性慢波，但无痫样放电。屏气发作时的症状主要由脑一过性缺氧引起。缺氧的机制包括大哭时过度通气造成低碳酸血症，呼吸暂停引起低氧血症，持续屏气时胸腔内压力增高、心输出量减少等因素造成脑循环障碍。
