　　1、遗传因素也是导致癫痫发作的病因。癫痫和遗传因素密切相关癫痫病发作前的症状。遗传可以影响到细胞膜离子通道的功能而降低惊厥阈值，从而引起神经元的放电。

　　2、先天性的畸形:患病的原因主要是因为染色体的畸形、小头畸形，胼胝体发育不完善、先天性脑积水、脑皮质发育不全等。脑外伤、脑肿瘤、脑出血、脑梗死、脑炎、代谢性脑病变性病围生期损伤和药物中毒患者无癫痫史以癫痫状态为首发症状占50%~60%。

　　3、年龄因素:不同年龄阶段引起癫痫的主要病因有所不同。年龄或脑的成熟程度不仅影响发作的倾向，也影响发作的类型。小儿癫痫的病因及年龄分布特点对癫痫的诊断及防治有指导意义，对于围产期、新生儿期、婴幼儿期的脑发育、遗传、代谢、助产技术等问题必须给予足够的重视。

　　4、获得性因素:专家指出:这是常见的引起癫痫病起因。通常，由获得性因素引起脑的结构异常或代谢异常可产生致痫灶或降低惊厥阈值。病变可以是限局性或弥漫性，静止性或进行性。这类癫痫称为症状性(或继发性)癫痫。在症状性癫痫中，遗传因素也可能起重要作用，在小儿时期尤其如此。

　　5、自身因素:癫痫患者在发热全身感染、外科手术、精神高度紧张及过度疲劳等时，即使维持有效血药浓度也可诱发持续状态。发热、感染、劳累、饮酒、酒精戒断、妊娠及分娩等都可能会诱发癫痫病的产生。

　　6、诱发因素:癫痫发作多系突然发生，无明显诱因。但也有一些发作确有诱发因素存在。如发作可与内分泌因素或月经有关，癫痫病的起因另一些诱发因素则系不规则发生。诱因可以是正常生活中的自然性感觉性刺激，也可能是突然出现的刺激，或由病儿自己诱导的刺激。
