男性癫痫患者如果长期饮酒还会使患者大脑细胞出现异常，大脑神经出现神经系统功能紊乱，使人处于兴奋的状态，因而导致大脑细胞异常兴奋出现异常放电现象，引起癫痫的发作，癫痫患者饮酒后会表现非常兴奋，很容易造成该病发作，严重者还可威胁生命。

而且癫痫患者还在处于治疗期间的话，饮酒会对服用的抗癫痫药物有一定的影响。抗癫痫药物中有镇静作用，饮酒之后会让抗癫痫药物失去这种作用，造成癫痫病反复发作。这样现象的出现会导致患者的身体各个器官受到或多或少的损害，而损害最严重的则是患者的大脑。因此该病一旦确诊要及时治疗，这样可降低该病对患者的伤害。
