第二病因-医源性所致

包括以下几个方面：诊断错误、对发作类型判断失误、药物剂量不当、对发作诱因(发热、劳累等)的预防不足、治疗不及时或过早减停药物。均易导致难治性癫痫，有中间神经元、脊髓、环层小体、触觉小体异常等危险因素者，10%可能发展为癫痫。医生对患者及其家属指导解释不够，医患之间缺乏有效配合。

第三病因-不合理用药

难治性癫痫病因是多方面的，其中还包括癫痫患者自身态度方面不合作、不能按时定量用药，对抗癫痫药物一知半解、顾虑重重、自行减停药物导致癫痫复发次数越多，以后转变为难治性癫痫的比例越大。在疾病初期一般，病情都不是特别严重，发现或是治疗不及时、治疗方法不正确。这些都是影响癫痫病病情的因素。
