4、酗酒也是成人癫痫形成的原因。另外酒后生事、打架斗殴或发生交通事故，造成颅脑外伤，可引起外伤后继发性癫痫。

诱发继发性癫痫的原因有很多，如脑积水、脑发育不全、各种脑炎、脑囊虫、脑出血、脑瘤、遗传、维生素B6缺乏等，根据病因的不同和患者的身体素质不同，要治疗就要选择有针对性的方法，而治疗继发性癫痫的方法主要有：

1、针对病因进行的治疗：脑发育不全、脑发育迟缓、脑萎缩等引起的继发性癫痫一般采取益智开窍和营养发育脑神经的药物来治疗;各种脑炎、脑膜炎后遗症引起的癫痫则采取抗炎的方式治疗;脑积水、脑血栓、脑出血等一般是要用中药治疗;脑囊虫要用杀虫药;脑瘤必需开颅手术;维生素B6缺乏者补充维生素B6即可。

2、抗癫痫药物治疗：其中抗癫痫药包括国产西药、进口西药、中医成药，治疗一定要根据患者的病情来选择合适的药物，而且主张单药治疗，从小剂量开始服用，逐渐增量到控制疾病的发作。对于药物的服用一定要听从医生的指导，不可私自更改药量，更不可私自换药或是停药。

3、手术治疗癫痫：这在癫痫治疗中也较为常见，但这种方式治疗一定要到正规的医院，在确诊符合手术条件后再实施治疗，比较适合难治性癫痫以及颞叶癫痫等患者。
