3、帮助患者平躺在地上之后，将其衣服领子的扣子解开，皮带、领带、内衣带等松开，头转向一侧，以利于呼吸道分泌物及呕吐物排出，防止流入气管引起呛咳窒息。

4、癫痫发作时，患者往往都会牙关紧闭，如果不及时用柔软的毛巾或纱布垫在患者的牙关处，那么患者在抽搐时很有可能会咬到自己的舌头。因此在患者完全闭紧嘴巴之前，要迅速做好防护工作。若发作之前未能放入，待病人强直期张口进再放入，阵挛期不要强行放入，以免伤害病人。

5、病人在癫痫发作时，往往会有口吐白沫或呕吐的现象，如果这些分泌物或呕吐物不能及时清理干净，就有可能在患者呼吸时被误吸入气管、肺等，引起通气阻塞，甚至会造成窒息，危及生命。因此要让病人的头部偏向一侧，同时不时地擦去分泌物和呕吐物。
