2、定期随访：成人癫痫患者用药期间要注意定期随访，然后在医生指导下进行常规体检，尤其要注意检查肝肾功能、血尿常规。一般来说，每个月都应该复查一次血常规，每个季度都应该复查一次肝肾功能。以尽快掌握自身实际状况，看看是否出现了药物不良反应，如果血常规或者肝肾功能发生异常，就要及时停药并更换其他药物治疗。

3、采取正确的方式停药：如果成人癫痫患者用药治疗一段时间后病情已经被控制了，也就是说已经很长时间没有发作了，也不能立即停药。而是应该继续坚持用药治疗一年左右的时间，在最后准备停药时还应采用逐渐减少剂量的方法，直至完全停止。
