癫痫是神经内科的常见病,西医认为癫痫是以脑神经元异常放电所致的突然、反复的神经系统功能失调的病症。中医认为癫痫病发作是由先天不足和后天失养所致,气机逆乱,痰浊阻滞,蒙蔽清窍是其主要病机。难治性癫痫患者大多有痰血瘀阻,气机紊乱的情况,因此治疗上以涤痰理气,开窍治痉,化瘀散结为主。方中所用温胆汤,出自《三因极-病证方论》,由二陈汤如枳实、竹茹组成,二陈汤为祛痰祖方,枳实消痞散结、镇静,竹茹清热止逆、镇静,全方具有化痰降浊,和中降逆,调畅气机的功效,对癫痫具有较好的疗效。胆南星、石菖蒲具有化痰开窍,行气止痉的作用,是治疗癫痫的良药。全蝎、地龙、水蛭具有较强的活血化瘀,散结通络,熄风止痉的功效,可明显地改善脑血流量,缓解大脑皮层的异常放电,对难治性癫痫的治疗和预防有重要的临床意义。诸药合用起到涤痰逐瘀,开窍止痉,调畅气机的作用,因而对难至治性癫痫具有较好的疗效。

专家指出对癫痫病的治疗,西医治疗癫痫病多以控制症状为主,临床上约有10%～20%的病人症状发作不能完全控制,另外长时间的服用抗癫痫药物,患者出现头晕、嗜睡、恶心、呕吐、乏力、反应迟钝、智力低下等一系列的副作用,严重的影响病人的生活质量,配合中药治疗,可有效地控制难治性癫痫患者的发作次数,减缓西药副作用,改善生活质量,是一种安全有效的治疗方案。
