(1)儿童癫痫病发作时，应让患儿就地平躺，以免跌伤。趁患儿嘴唇未紧闭之前，应迅速将毛巾垫在换患儿的上下齿之间，以免患儿牙关紧闭时咬伤舌部。

(2)对于已经倒地并且面部着地的患儿，家长应立即将患儿翻过身来，以免呼吸道阻塞，造成呼吸困难。此时若患儿牙关紧闭，家长不要强行撬开，以免会造成患儿牙齿受损。

(3)家长应解开患儿过紧的衣领和裤带，以保持患儿呼吸通畅。为防止其吐出的唾液或呕吐物吸入气管引起室息，救助者或家人应始终守护在患儿身旁，随时擦去患儿的吐出物。要保护患儿勿摔伤，跌伤。

(4)当患儿出现抽搐时，家长不可用力按压患儿的肢体，以免造成骨折。另外，还需注意患儿的心脏，呼吸情况，把维持生命入在首位。

(5)若患儿持续发作状态要给予患儿吸氧，抽搐后呼吸未能及时恢复应作人工呼吸。应及时送医院抢救。
