5、内分泌失调：内分泌失调是引起癫痫病的原因重要关键。性腺功能改变导致内分泌失调对癫痫有一定影响。少数仅在经前期或经期中发作者称经期性癫痫。

一般停止发作后需继续服用3～4年，脑电图监测正常后，经过1～2年逐渐减药至停药。若正值青春发育期，最好延迟青春期以后。当然不同病因、不同发作类型的癫痫服药疗程则不相同。所以为了患者自身的安全起见，应尽量做到缓慢减药，直到停药，以达到最终的治愈。
