专家告诉记者，目前我国约有900万癫痫患者，每年新增患者40万人。10岁以下和60岁以上是癫痫病发作的两个高峰期，其中，国内0-9岁的癫痫患者占38.5%，10-29岁的患者占40%.谈到致病原因，杜教授称，约1/4儿童患者是由婴幼儿期的发热惊厥引起的。

针对国内公众存在的偏见，表示，对大多数患者来说，治愈癫痫是可能的，约65%患者经过单种药物可完全控制发作，约10%患者可通过联合用药有效控制，其余药物难治性癫痫患者可采用手术治疗来控制。“癫痫不是精神病，也不是传染病，更不是不治之症。”这样提醒公众，社会和家长应该给癫痫患儿与周围孩子自由接触的环境，对患儿过分保护并不可取，以免给孩子造成心理阴影。

儿童患者生活务必规律

癫痫专家提醒，癫痫患儿生活一定要有规律，按时作息，避免过劳、受凉和发热，不宜打牌、下棋、玩电子游戏机，以防诱发;养成良好的饮食习惯，忌吃生、冷食物和萝卜、茄子、辣椒及油腻过重食品，不宜喝浓茶、咖啡和有兴奋作用的饮料;不要单独涉水、登高、接触电器。尤其提醒家长注意，对患儿学习要求不要过高、过严，以免给孩子精神上造成过度紧张、疲劳。

发生抽搐时，要让患儿就地平卧，将头歪于一侧，便于呼吸通畅;解开衣领，防止痰液误入气管，同时迅速将手绢、纱布等垫在患儿上下齿之间，防止牙关紧闭时咬伤舌部;不能对孩子强行按压，以免造成骨折、脱臼。
