3、药物治疗最重要的一点就是，一旦开始服药治疗，必需坚持服用，万万不能间断，只有这样才能有效地控制发作，若发作已完全控制，减药时要逐渐减量，不可骤停。如在停药或减药过程中出现复发，应在医生指导下马上恢复原治疗剂量。

4、对于各种颅内感染引起的癫痫，要积极地防范这些感染的发生，一旦发生了颅内感染性疾病，应及早诊断，正确治疗，减轻脑组织损伤程度。在颅内感染的急性期，不少患者常有癫痫发作，这时应及时、足量地使用抗癫痫药物，以减轻脑组织因癫痫发作造成的损害，也可减少日后癫痫发作的机会。
