1、癫痫不是时时都会发病的，是有间歇性的，与外界的一些因素的刺激有很大的因素，有几个月发作一次，有的1-2年发作一次，但是都不会是天天发作，所以没有必要住院在治疗。

2、由于癫痫是一种间歇性发病的慢性病，一般患者要持续服药2-3年，根据病人具体情况，可能会更长，有可能达到5-6年，所以长时间住院对家庭产生的经济负担，是很沉重的，一般家庭是负担不起的。

3、现在癫痫已不是什么疑难杂症，是可以经过正确的用药治疗是可以得到控制的。一般除了外科治疗癫痫需要在修养几天外，一般癫痫治疗是不需要住院的。

4、在癫痫患者的间歇期，常人是一样的，没有什么不同。所以住院也是一种浪费。
