3.代谢性中毒

铅急性中毒性脑病常有癫痫性发作，痊愈后癫痫可能长期存在。此外，酒精中毒、低血糖、非酮性高血糖、氨茶碱、异烟肼中毒也可引起癫痫发作。

4.脑部感染

在各种脑炎、脑膜炎及脑脓肿的急性期，因充血、水肿、毒素和渗出的刺激，均可引起癫痫发作。痊愈以后，疤痕和粘连可成为发生癫痫的原因。

5.脑肿瘤

在50～60岁以后开始发作的癫痫中，除外伤外，小脑幕上肿瘤也是最常见的病因之一，尤其是生长较慢的肿瘤，如胶质瘤、星形细胞瘤、脑膜瘤等;此外，其他部位肿瘤，形成转移性脑肿瘤也是老年人癫痫发作的原因，其患病高于年轻人。有时癫痫发作是肿瘤的首发症状，应当引起重视。

6.脑血管疾病

无论急性或慢性脑血管病均可伴发癫痫。大约5%脑卒中在病后一年前后开始发生癫痫。
