此外，该病的发生还存在诱发因素：发热、过量饮水、过度换气、饮酒、缺眠、过劳和饥饿等均可诱发癫痫发作;亦可导致癫痫发作;某些患者对某些特定的感觉如视、听、嗅、味、前庭、躯体觉等较为敏感，当受刺激时可引起不同类型的癫痫发作;某些患者在强烈情感活动、精神激动、受惊、计算、弈棋、玩牌等时也会促使癫痫。

专家指出癫痫病人每次发病，中枢神经系统都会受到一定的影响，而且因为增加了神经元的不稳定性，还容易引起下一次癫痫的发作。因此，癫痫一旦确诊，应尽快进行治疗，以防病情进一步加重。治疗癫痫应根据自己的病情、家庭情况、发作类型选择合适自己的抗癫痫物，才是最佳方案。
