1.增加剂量：这是克服抗癫痫药物耐药性的主要方法，指在没有交叉耐药的基础上适当增加所用药物的剂量，以确保稳定的血药浓度。增加剂量的方法主要有两种：1)最初就投以负荷量;2)逐步增加剂量。

2.利用交叉耐药现象：首先选用一种抗癫痫药物作用较弱但能对副作用产生明显耐药的药物，以诱导耐药性的产生。达到目的后，就改用另一种有较强抗癫痫作用的药物，由于交叉耐药的存在，后用药物的副反应可明显降低。

3.换药：在增加药物剂量也不能控制癫痫发作，确保稳定疗效的情况下，要考虑换药。

4.增加辅助抗癫痫药物。

5.假日疗法：有些药物的耐药性随着停药可以逐步消失，因而间歇性用药可避免耐药性的产生，如奥沙西泮，这种疗法称为假日疗法。适用于假日疗法的药物多是抗癫痫治疗的辅助用药。
