2.初潮与癫痫发作形式的关系失神发作一般在初潮后逐渐停止;全面性强直阵挛发作一般在初潮后频率增加,程度加重;肌阵挛发作多在初潮期后出现;良性部分性癫痫综合征常在初潮后逐渐缓解;某些反射性癫痫：如光反射性癫痫一般在初潮后逐渐缓解。

(二)女性经期癫痫的治疗是一种与月经周期密切相关的癫痫发作形式。一些女性癫痫患者的发作，只出现在月经前或月经期，称之为月经性癫痫。月经加重发作在症状性癫痫中更为突出，那些已经有频繁发作者、或有月经前紧张者，更可能在月经前发或在月经性出血时发作。

月经与癫痫发作之间的联系，可见于单纯性部分性、复杂部分性及全身强直-阵挛性发作，但不同类型发作和月经周期的不同时期有关。这与月经周期中体内雌激素和孕激素的水平变化，以及抗癫痫药血药浓度的变化有关。据统计资料显示，大部分的女性癫痫病人，有与月经周期相关的癫痫发作加重，有一部分的女性癫痫发作频率增加两倍或两倍以上。
