癫痫病的发作原因不同，患病年龄不同，复发的机率也会有所不同。而头部外伤是症状发作重要原因，而复发的危险与脑外伤比也相对严重。感染主要是指颅内感染，如脑膜炎脑脓肿等，复发的原因也和感染程度、损伤范围和感染时年龄有关。

1、避免受细菌感染，一些细菌感染也会引发继发性癫痫。

2、不要突然戒酒，一个长期嗜酒的人如果突然一下戒酒，机体可能反应不过来，就很容易产生继发性癫痫;所以嗜酒的人如果要戒酒，最好一点一点慢慢减少量，不要突然一滴不沾。

3、不要长期服用安眠药，有些人因长期失眠，在睡觉前就会养成习惯，每次睡眠前都要吃安眠药，殊不知长期吃安眠药会导致人的神经系统功能紊乱，进而诱发继发性癫痫。
